Unsung heroines

Come March and there is this hype all over about the International Woman’s Day. Big deal – I thought and I just put down my thoughts about the same and I title it
THE UNSUNG HEROINES
We always hear that “Behind every successful man there is a woman", which tells a great deal about woman power. But we never generally hear, that “Behind every successful woman there is a man”. For, if a woman is successful, it is largely because of her own efforts and her tight rope walking skills. Few are lucky to have the support of the family.
It is said, “if you have the spark in your eyes and fire in the belly, you can make it big”. However, how true is this for women? For a woman, other than the spark in the eyes and fire in the belly, she needs a supportive and understanding family too.
Every woman cannot become a Sania Mirza or Aishwarya Rai ………. Praises galore for these kind of women. But what about some of our mothers - who have given up their choices for the sake of our families …… I think these women are the true heroines – THE UNSUNG HEROINES.

Come to think of Women’s day and all the hype about it…especially in the last few years….I find it ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS…SIMPLY SILLY…..why do we need an International Women’s Day…a day to restate our rights?? Is there an International Men’s Day? Do men try to ask and establish their rights (at least not that I know of and not in India. I heard this happens in China ). I feel we are just being belittled. Gone are the days of restating rights. What we want is equality and not any concessions. Today, we need to establish our rights and not ask for our rights . We need to do this whenever and wherever necessary – RIGHT THEN. We cannot wait to be heard…we need to speak!!
